The D&A Foundation was established by Roni Bassal Schlanger and Michael Bassal (2025) as a living tribute to the enduring memory of Dan and Andreea Schlanger. Long committed to the spirit of philanthropy, Roni and Michael chose to transform profound personal loss into a force for collective healing. They founded D&A with a singular vision: to rise through the tides of grief by creating a vessel that helps others navigate their own journeys toward peace.
The Founder’s Note
Living in Israel, trauma is often a shared language. For Roni, the sea wasn't just a hobby, it was a lifeline. It is where she battled my own shadows of PTSD and depression, and where she eventually found herself again. She learned that the ocean acts as a mirror: it offers the reflection you need to see, even when it’s hard to look. But more importantly, its vastness reminds you that you are held by something bigger. You are never truly alone.
